Air Force OCP Uniform

The Air Force has transitioned to the OCP uniform as of April 1, 2021. Now that OCPs are the mandatory uniform, they can not be mixed with the previously used ABU items. Being an approved U.S. Military supplier for authentic Air Force OCP Uniforms and apparel, you can rely on Propper’s full line of uniform pieces to fit your needs:

Is ACU the same as OCP?

No. The term “ACU” and “OCP” actually refer to two totally different concepts. The confusion around the topic stems from people using the name for a uniform cut and the name of a camouflage pattern interchangeably.

With that said, in terms of camouflage patterns, “ACU” is generally a misnomer for the Universal Camouflage Pattern and it is completely different from the Operational Camouflage Pattern (aka OCP, Scorpion OCP and Scorpion W2).

Regarding uniform components, the Army “ACU” and the USAF “OCP” uniforms are actually the same basic uniform components cut to the same standards (i.e. coat and trousers). Variations generally only come about when detailing boots, badges and insignia.

What does OCP Uniform stand for?

Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) Uniform, originally codenamed Scorpion W2 by the U.S. Army, the camouflage pattern was first adopted in 2015 by the United States Army as the primary camouflage pattern on the Army Combat Uniform (ACU). Today, the "OCP Uniform" is the primary combat uniform for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, and the U.S. Space Force.
